Travels with a spiritual bent hastens what images for you personally ? Florence for myself as I spent many days wandering the streets discovering places to draw or paint at 5:30 AM every day ,while being totally enthralled until 8 PM in the evening. My pals were sipping great vino on the veranda yet after a glass I could not wait to wake up early that next morning. This Duomo holds a special place in my heart after finding secluded spots to paint my watercolors and pen and ink work and that wasn't easy ! How architecture is and was built fascinates me so no matter how simple or complex a work of mine may appear I strive for the underlying unity without any preconceived conceptions exactly like the jazz musician Miles Davis felt in whatever musical realm that he set his mind to. In reading in depth about Brunelleschi I had to include the prosperity of the region by showing a street food vender receiving a gold florin in this joyous celebration from the heavens ,plus the abstraction of all the elements that produced this marvel through the kinetic energy that I imagined . Personally I was shocked at the sureness and certainty of the lines and felt as if I was a master captivated by the uniqueness of the unfolding spectacle. A time traveler knows no limits ! ******Acrylic and ink on fine medium weight paper and I frame mine with UV Museum Glass and no direct sunlight also ,except they are supposed to be extremely lightfast here.****** Display how you wish and I will pay shipping and taxes in the US..
