Something clicks at 3 am once in a while as there was a period where I arose at that hour and had to work on a problem in a painting from that day, It may be insane but there was a 3 week section where whatever is out caused me to go to work right away ,and produced some of the happiest times of my life .Our dear friend Van Gogh write that it's as if playing the violin while on a mission and hence things slow down after. This is relevant now as now the time is 4 am and what happened was I decided to attach a collage in the form of acrylic markers on mixed media paper and juxtapose this with the landscape/ garden scene in retrospect bring nature into an interior setting. What was difficult about this was getting enough contrast on the wall which has hints of an upper spotlight ,but not dominating the outdoor scene with the multicolored glass as another focal point. Besides I love discovering so many shades of warm and cool grays -always have since the beginning ! The acrylic marker section are sprayed with the finest professional UV Archival Fixative while the rest was painted with Old Holland oil paints which I compared to driving a Ferrari to someone in the medical field .Rembrandt may have used these in 1664 and now the subtlety and richness of the pigment is like ecstasy in a tube. Don't trust me? ok try it yourself .Grazie. I pay taxes and shipping in the US also. Last thing is I have painted in Botanical Gardens and Zoos over the decades and it goes without saying what wonders nature holds for us.....
